Casellula Wine Bar :: NYC Wine Bars

Casellula is a tiny gem of a place located in Midtown West, and it's no mistake that they identify themselves as a cheese and wine bar (and not the other way around). Dining at Casellula without trying one of their many cheese offerings is a crime. The cheeses have been hand selected by the restaurant's owner, Brian Keyser, and executive chef, Megan Johnson, who have worked at some of New York's finest restaurants, including Gramercy Tavern.

The extensive wine list at Casellula is always changing to please the palettes of their many repeat customers. With wines from South Africa, Europe, Australia, and the states, the menu is eclectic and refined. The food, though prepared by a chef with a fine dining background, is never pretentious but always first class. Offerings like grilled cheese sandwiches, "Pig's Ass Sandwich" and mac and cheese top the favorites list off of the menu. Pastry chef Leigh Friend brings local and seasonal ingredients into the desserts that round out Casellula's signature menu.
